Adeola Doherty has more than 17 years’ experience within the financial services industry. He is a Certified Chartered Accountant with Fellowship status (FCCA), having qualified over 14 years ago in the UK. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) by examination and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. With strong quantitative and analytical skills set, Ade has a Second Class Upper in Accounting from his first degree at the University of Essex, UK, in addition to his MBA from the renowned Imperial College, London where he was an Award Winner of the Imperial College Innovation & Entrepreneurship Design Challenge. Ade is also an alumnus of London Business School where he studied Strategic Investment Management, as well as being a beneficiary of executive education courses and programmes from London School of Economics, University of Oxford, Bocconi University, Columbia Business School and Harvard Business School.

Ade is widely travelled and has spent several years working internationally. He started his career working for the North Eastern Trust of the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom between 2003 and 2005 and was part of the team responsible for the implementation of the Oracle system for users’ financial information in the Trust.

In 2005, Adeola Doherty was headhunted to manage the financial function for the North-East regional office of Enterprise Rent-a-car, a global transportation company. He later worked for top International Firm, Montpelier Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers, before working for two of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms: Ernst & Young and KPMG.

Due to several achievements in his past roles, Ade was offered an opportunity to work in one of the world’s largest financial centres, the Cayman Islands, where he worked in both the banking and the rapidly growing insurance industry first at KPMG and then at Aon Plc, a global professional services firm. At Aon, Ade managed a portfolio of insurance and re-insurance entities and their associated investment portfolio averaging US$600m. His official role took him to several destinations including: United States, Canada, the Bahamas, Panama, Costa Rica and Honduras. 

As an entrepreneur with relationship-development expertise, Ade has continually demonstrated his ability to proactively build a solid client base and drive revenue growth. He is skilled at working with clients to delineate and analyse financial situations whilst developing strategic solutions that strengthen company objectives. 

Ade is also a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, Fellow of the Institute of Management Specialists and a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration. Additionally, he is a member of Toastmasters International.
